Sony exec: Gran Turismo 5 now being targeted for fall release
This time, it was Al Dia, CEO of Sony Entertainment Portugal, who revealed to the Spanish site Canarias that Sony is now aiming to ship out GT5 before Christmas. By our account, that’s about the fifth time the game’s release date has been moved. First, it was the fall of 2009, then Christmas 2009, then March of 2010, then summer of 2010, and now it’s “shortly before Christmas”?
Before you know it, the polar ice caps would have already melted, Seth Green would have already won an Academy Award and still GT5 won’t have been released yet. In their defense, Sony is saying that the “priority is to make this game with the best quality as possible”. Fair enough. But for the last time, please don’t give ‘target release dates’ unless you’re completely sure. Otherwise, gamers that have waited ages for GT5 to be released just might find Forza 3 a little more appealing.
At least that game’s already been released.
