2010 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R.

Corvette Racing is under intense preparation for the season-opening round of the 2010 American Le Mans Series, the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, to be held in Sebring, Fla., on March 20. They will have to compete against entries representing Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Jaguar, and Ford.

Their car, the Corvette C6.R. GT2 is based on the road-going version Corvette ZR1, but featuring an aluminum frame, steel brakes and a downsized 5.5-liter V8 engine. The latest C6.R models were using either a 7.0 liter or a 6.0 liter V8. It is also rumored that the 5.5 liter V8 engine will be used in a production version Corvette in the near future.

Corvette Racing drivers Johnny O’Connell, Jan Magnussen, and Antonio Garcia are testing the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Oliver Gavin, Olivier Beretta, and Emmanuel Collard are testing the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R.
