Michael Cooper gets recognized by BMW for his performance at the Cadillac CTS-V Challenge

Remember Bob Lutz’s Cadillac CTS-V challenge?

If you don’t, then we’re obligated to inform you that Bob Lutz’s CTS-V – as did a lot or cars – was beaten out by 21-year old Michael Cooper and his BMW M3. Combining a really powerful car with some pretty impressive driving skills, Cooper scored a sixth-best lap time of 2:50:424, one spot higher than Lutz, the seventh place finisher.

As a result of his one-place win over Lutz, Cooper was invited by BMW North America to their Woodcliff Lake, NJ headquarters for a meeting with two high-ranking BMW officials, BMW Performance brand manager Eric Reihle and M brand manager Larry Koch.

Aside from his meeting with the two BMW higher-ups, Cooper’s tour of the Woodcliff Lake headquarters included a presentation of a BMW Performance Multifunction Steering Wheel, which was installed in his BMW M3.

Going in to the CTS-V Challenge, Michael Cooper probably had no idea his performance would be noticed by the folks of BMW. Well they did, and for his efforts, he was recognized far more than he expected.
